– Because of its high sensitivity, the device can normally detect
objects in a broad radius beneath the relevant surface. If you want
to determine the actual centre of the hidden object, you must
move the device from both left and right towards the object. The
electric conductor is located at the mid-point between the two
marks. Refer also to Tip 1 about this.
Tip 7: Depending on surface material electro-static interference may
occur when moving unit, LED's will light up. In this case move tool
slowly over the wall without touching surface.
Tip 8: Because of static charges, electric fields may be detected
at the side of the actual position of the wire. To carry away these
charges, lay your free hand on the wall.
Tip 9: If you suspect that wires must be present but cannot find any,
this may be because they are shielded in conduits. Use METAL-Scan
in order to check the near area.
Tip 10: The position where you start is important: To achieve maxi-
mum sensitivity, start by placing the device in a position which is
known not to be near live wires.
Conductors routed deeper than 40 mm may remain
!
undetectable. Always switch off power when working in
the vicinity of electric conductors.
