NOTE: Prior to commencement of any operations described hereunder, disconnect the filter (pumps and UV sterilizer)
from power supply, pulling out the plugs.

8.1. Filter cover cannot be closed

Main gasket (8) improperly installed
Bad placement of filtration media
Overfilled media magazines
Improper placement of cover on the filter container

8.2. Motors are not working

Broken or damaged rotor axles
Damaged electric conduit
Blocked or damaged rotors
Covers of rotor chamber fell from pumps

8.3. Filter output deteriorates significantly

Badly composed filtration media
Polluted filtration media
To many additional accessories connected to the inlet or
outlet systems
Water circulation during filtration is not functioning
properly
Soiled pumps
Soiled inlet/outlet elements

8.4. Leaks from under the filter cover, above it or from under the filter container

Improperly locked catches (10)
Improperly fitted, stretched or skewed main gasket (8)
Gasket (8) groove in cover (1) soiled
Leaky seal (20) on the control unit (16)
Leaky plug assembly (29, 32) or leaky installation of the UV
sterilizer at bottom of the filter container (11)
8.5. Flooding of filter with water according to section 6.1 not possible
The filter is positioned too high and in this connection the
filter inlet id above the water level in the aquarium.
The user has made too few piston motions when sucking
air out from the filter container (see figure 18)

Place the gasket properly in the cover groove.
Place the magazines with filtration media so that they fit
each other and the filter container perfectly.
Remove excess media. Do not place to much filtration
media in the magazines – see figure 8.

Replace the axles according to the description at fig. 24
and 26.
Replace entire cover (1) – it is not allowed to repair or re-
place the electric cord
Perform pump maintenance according to section 7.3. or
replace rotor.
Place them properly, see fig. 10 and 24.

Check the composition of the filtration media, whether it is
compliant with that recommended by AQUAEL
Clean or replace media according to section 7.2.
Check and possibly remove the elements that are not
indispensable
Verify whether the filter is not placed too low with respect
to the water level or whether there is no obstruction in the
water circuit, e.g. folded elastic circuits
Perform maintenance according to section 7.3.
Disconnect these systems and remove all constrictions
Solution
Properly lock all catches – see end of section 5.3.
Remove the gasket, clean all surfaces of its groove, then
put back the gasket properly. If necessary, replace the
gasket (8)
Clean the seal (20) and its groove – see descriptions at
figures 28-29; or replace the seal
Remove these elements – see descriptions at figures 3 and
30-32, clean or replace the seals (30) and (31), clean their
grooves, properly install the seals and lubricate them with
Vaseline
Solution
The upper surface of the filter should be located at least 10
cm below the water level in the aquarium
Carefully read the description at figure 18 and proceed
accordingly
