The magnetic drill machine is equipped with a self-starting lock. The automatic start interlock ensures
that only the electromagnet is energised when the red rocker-type switch is switched on. The drill drive
only gets power when the green combination switch is pressed. Only now does the drill drive start up.
If the voltage is interrupted, e.g. due to a defect in the supply line or by actuating the red rocker-type
switch, the drill drive remains voltage-free even after the voltage returns or after the red rocker-type
switch is switched on again. With the FÖRCH article drill chuck (Art. No. 5323 108 116) and adapter
(Art. No. 5323 108 109), spiral drills up to diameter 13.0 mm can be used!

Before commissioning

Carefully read and observe the operating instructions and safety notes! Correctly establish the electrical
device connection. Note the rated voltage on the type plate! If you want to use an extension cable,
it must be designed for the application and the rated power input of the drilling unit! Caution: When drilling
horizontally and vertically upwards, the magnetic drill stand must be secured with the supplied safety
belt in accordance with the accident prevention regulations of the trade associations. A corresponding
belt guide is provided on the drill stands. The drill drive can be adjusted in height with the Allen wrench
(SW6). The set screw is located on the back of the gearbox housing.
Commissioning
Align the drill tip with the grained drill point. Switch on the magnetic drill stand on the red rocker-type
switch "ON". The magnetic drill unit sticks to the work piece through the magnetic field that builds up.
Before the drilling process check whether the magnetic drilling unit is stuck safely. Now the magnetic drill
unit and the drill tip can be precisely aligned to the drilling point. This is possible because the magnetic
holding force is reduced by about 50% when the drill drive is switched off. The drill drive is now switched
on at the combination switch - green - ON. Note: The drill drive can now be started when the electro-
magnet is switched on. The drill feed is now carried out manually via the handle bars. To avoid overload-
ing the magnetic drilling unit or premature tool wear, the drilling pressure must be adjusted.
After each drilling operation the chips and / or the drill core must be removed. The cooling and lubrication
of the drilling process must be metered for the tool used. Ensure that no more than the required coolant
/ lubricant quantity is used and that it does not get into the magnetic drilling unit. Magnetic drilling units
must be stored in a horizontal position after completion of work so that the gear grease is distributed
evenly again.
Switching the drilling machine on and off
The control panel of your magnetic drilling machine is
designed for optimum operation and safety.
1 – The ON switch (GREEN):
This (upper) switch is used to switch the motor unit ON ("–").
2 – The OFF switch (RED):
This (lower) switch is used to switch the motor unit OFF ("O").
3 – The magnetic switch (RED):
This switch is used to control the main current
supply and to switch the magnet ON and OFF.
