5.4.3 Quick-Lock system
See fig. 14.
• Turn the knob of the pressure relief tool counterclockwise to make room for the coupler.
• Press the pressure relief tool on to the coupler of the hose or tool.
• Wrap a cloth around the pressure relief tool, leave the knob free to operate.
WARNING
Make sure the cloth covers the oil openings, because a cloud of oil may appear without a
cloth.
• Turn the knob clockwise to release the pressure. Some oil will be released.
• Turn the knob counterclockwise and remove the pressure relief tool from the coupler.
6 Use
6.1 General
Check the equipment for completeness and damage. Do not use the equipment if it is damaged; in that
case contact the Holmatro dealer.
WARNING
Make sure you are up to date on all safety regulations and that you have mastered the use
of all equipment of the system you are going to work with.
6.2

Before use

See Fig. 2 up to Fig. 8.
• Check the oil level in the pump. Refer to section 8.4.5.
• Place the pump on a flat surface. When the pump can not be placed on a flat surface, make sure
that the oil filling cap (9) is the highest part of the hydraulic oil tank.
• Connect the hydraulic hoses. Refer to chapter 5.2.

During use

See Fig. 2 up to Fig. 8.
• Unlock the pump lever (1) with push and unlock (2). Push on the pump lever to unlock.
• Set the pressure relief valve (3) on the pump to the closed (1) position.
• Move the pump lever up and down, by hand or foot (if applicable). This will produce a flow and/or
build up pressure during every downward movement (stroke). When operating a tool/cylinder, it will
respond with every stroke.
Note
• In case of a PA38 or PA58 pump, you may hear a hissing sound when pumping out
or retracting a load. This sound is normal and comes from the tank aeration and de-
aeration valve (13 and 14).
• Only for footpumps (see Fig. 5):
If the pedal of the footpump comes too high for the user, this height can be limited by
adjusting the stroke limiter (11) which can be found at the underside of the pumplever.
