5. Operation
1. T urn the green cap counter clockwise until it can
be removed.
2. P ull the battery cylinder out of the housing and
insert 3 x 1.5 V D batteries with the positive
pole facing down.
3. A fter inserting the batteries, insert the battery
compartment and tighten the cap to make
sure, that it is water tight.
4. T he Gardigo Mole Repellent should be pushed
about 25 cm deep into the ground. Make sure
the earth around the device is pressed firmly
after inserting it. The firmer and denser the
earth around the device, the better the sound
waves are conducted.
5. T o change batteries, repeat steps 1 – 3.
6. Application
To successfully and permanently get rid of all moles from
your property, there are a few points that must be followed
closely: the mole should not be "encircled" by the Mole Chas-
er. It should be driven from the house towards the borders of
the garden. To do this, start by placing one or several devices
between the wall of the house and the nearest molehill. Nev-
er put a device directly into a hill! Gradually move the mole
Repellent in 1 to 2 week intervals towards the edge of the gar-
den and away from the house. This time span is needed, as
you will notice the molehills "migrating". If the hills are still
in the same place after four weeks, please check if the device
is really working (the sound is audible). The batteries might
be depleted. If this is the case, please use a new set of bat-
teries. The span of time needed to deter an animal may vary
6
for a number of reasons. The mole might be more resistant or
the surrounding soil is sandy or contains a lot of peat or clay.
This has an effect on the range and efficiency of the sound.
We recommended turning the device off at regular intervals,
in order to prevent habituation. Simply remove the battery
cylinder to pause operation. Retrieving the device from the
ground is not necessary. An increased burrowing activity
shortly after putting the device into operation is quite nor-
mal and should not be the cause for worry. Moles and voles
notice a change of their environment and want to find out
where it comes from. In the long run they will search for a
quieter place.
Please do not put the repeller directly into the molehill.
Pause operation or pull it out periodically to avoid a ha-
bituation effect.
