BDACM1000
MAINTENANCE
This section provides basic maintenance information, including fuse and
battery replacement instructions.
Do not attempt to repair or service your device unless you are qualified
to do so and have the relevant calibration, performance test and service
information.
General maintenance
To avoid electrical shock and damage to the device, do not let water
enter the case. Remove the test leads and disconnect input signals
before opening the case.
• Periodically wipe the case with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
• Do not use abrasive materials or solvents.
• Dirt or moisture in the terminals can affect readings.
• To clean the terminals:
– Switch off the device and remove all test leads.
– Shake out any dirt that may be in the terminals.
– Soak a new swab with a cleaning and lubricating agent (such as
WD-40).
– Work the swab around in each terminal. The lubricating agent protects
the terminals against moisture-related contamination.
Battery replacement
To avoid false readings which could lead to electric shock or personal
injury, replace the battery when the low battery indicator
appears.
Before replacing the battery, disconnect the test leads and/or any
connectors from any circuit under test, switch off the device, and
remove the test leads from the terminals.
1. Set the rotary switch to the OFF position.
2. Disconnect the test leads and/or any connectors from the terminals.
3. Use a screwdriver to loosen the two screws on the battery cover.
4. Remove the battery cover from the device.
5. Remove the used batteries.
6. Replace with three new 1.5V AAA cells.
7. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screws.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

– Do not dispose electrical appliances as unsorted municipal
waste, use separate collection facilities.
– Contact your local government for information regarding the
collection systems available.
– If electrical appliances are disposed of in landfills o dumps,
hazardous substances can leak into the groundwater and get
into the food chain, damaging your health and well-being.
– When replacing old appliances with new ones, the retailer is legally
obligated to take back your old appliance for disposal at least for free of
charge.
