WORK AREA SAFETY
•
Do not use this machine in explosive atmospheres, in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
•
Never start the machine indoors or in an enclosed area. Exhaust gases, fuel fumes and oil contain carbon
monoxide and dangerous chemicals.
•
The area within a 15 meters radius around the machine must be considered a risk zone in which no one must
enter while the machine is in operation (safety zone).
•
When necessary, use tapes and warning signs to mark the safety zone.
•
Keep bystanders, children and animals away while operating this machine. Distractions can cause you to lose
control.
•
When the work is carried out simultaneously by two or more people, always check the location of others and
keep a sufficient distance to ensure safety.
•
Keep the work area clean and work only in a well lit area. Messy and dark areas can cause accidents.
•
Do not leave this machine running without supervision. If you have to leave the machine unattended, turn off the
engine, wait for the cutting tool to stop and unplug the spark plug wire.
•
Remember that the operator of the machine is responsible for the dangers and accidents caused to other people
or things. The manufacturer will not be liable for damages caused by improper or incorrect use of this machine.
SAFE USE OF COMBUSTIBLES
•
Fuel and oil are highly flammable. If they ignite, extinguish the fire with a dry powder extinguisher.
•
Fuel and oil are dangerous; avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not inhale or swallow them. In case of ingesting fuel
and/or oil, see your doctor quickly. If you accidentally come into contact with fuel or oil, clean it with plenty of soap
and water as soon as possible, if you then feel the area irritated, consult a doctor.
•
Do not refuel in closed or poorly ventilated areas. Fuel fumes and oil contain dangerous chemical substances.
•
Do not smoke and do not get close to naked flames, sparks or sources of heat into the machine. Do not smoke while
transporting fuel, when refilling the tank or when you are working.
•
Do not refuel in areas where there are naked flames, sparks or intense sources of heat.
•
Always fill the tank with the engine stopped. Do not overflow the fuel tank by trying to overfill it.
•
In the event of a fuel leak, get rid of the leak completely, clean the machine, move it away from the spill area and
wait until the fumes have dissipated before starting it. If your clothes get stained with fuel and/or oil, get changed
immediately.
•
Add fuel before starting the machine. Do not refuel a hot engine, as fuel may spill and cause a fire.
•
Open the lid of the tank carefully to allow the accumulation of pressure in the tank to be released slowly avoiding
fuel spillage.
•
Make sure to close the fuel cap completely after refuelling.
•
Never remove the fuel filler cap with the engine running or when the machine is hot.
•
If a fuel leak is detected, do not run the engine until it has been fixed.
•
Always store the fuel in approved containers. Do not use fuel which has been stored for more than 2 months, it will
make starting difficult and will produce unsatisfactory engine performance. If the fuel contained in the machine is
more than 2 months old, remove it and replace it.
