• Threading the machine
* Raise the thread take-up lever to its highest position by
turning the handwheel counterclockwise.
* Raise the presser foot lifter.
* Place a spool on the spool pin, with the thread coming
off from the bottom toward the front of the sewing
machine.
Draw the end of the thread around the upper thread guide.
While holding the thread near the spool, draw the end of
the thread down around the check spring holder.
Firmly draw the thread up to the take-up lever, and down
into the take-up lever eye.
Thread the needle from front to back, or use the built-in
needle threader.

position. Pull down theneedlethreader knob as far as it
will g o.
[] Turn the knob (_in the direction of the arrow in the
illustration, and insert the hook _)into the needle eye.
Lead the thread around the guide _)and under the
hook (_.
[] Turn the knob _l]in the direction of the arrow in the
illustration, drawing the thread loop through the needle.
[] Paying close attention to the needle point, draw the
thread through the needle eye. You will find it helpful to
use a pointed instrument, such as the seam ripper tip, to
draw the thread through the needle eye.
