Application
For hygiene reasons, the cooler/carbonator must be cleaned
at least once per year.
The GROHE Blue
®
cleaning cartridge together with the
supplied cleaning tablets must be used for this purpose.
Cleaning must be performed before changing the filter
cartridge, in order to prevent contamination of the replacement
filter cartridge.
Safety notes
• The fitting must not be used during the cleaning process.
• Ensure adequate ventilation and free draining during the
cleaning process.
• The maximum shelf life of the cleaning tablets in their
unopened packaging is 2 years. The expiration date is
stamped on the packaging.

Cleaning
Removing the filter cartridge, see fold-out page I, Fig. [1].
1. Open locking handle (A).
2. Press flush button (B) to depressurise filter cartridge (C).
Note: A few drops of water will escape.
3. Pull used up filter cartridge (C) out of filter head (D)
downwards.
Note: Filter cartridge (C) can be swivelled by up to 90° in
wall holder (E) to make it easier to remove.
Inserting the cleaning cartridge, see Figs. [2] to [4].
1. Unscrew lid (F1) from canister (F2), see Fig. [2].
2. Insert cleaning tablet (G) flat into canister (F2), see Fig. [3].
3. Remove protective cover (H) and insert cleaning
cartridge (F) vertically into filter head (D), see Fig. [4].
Ensure that seals (I) are correctly seated before inserting.
Cleaning cartridge (F) can only be inserted into filter
head (D) in one position.
4. Turn locking handle (A) until cleaning cartridge (F) is felt to
lock in place.
Cleaning the cooler/carbonator
Caution: Close the handle of the faucet to prevent unmeant
flow of water at the end of the cleaning process.
Notes:
- The cleaning process cannot be interrupted, after a power
failure it starts at the beginning.
- The progress of the process is shown in the display at the
cooler/carbonator.
- By products with illuminate handle it additionally flashes
purple.
Start cleaning mode, see fold-out page II, Fig. [5]:
1. Press the
buttons at the cooler/carbonator
simultaneously. The display at the cooler/carbonator
switches from the remaining filter capacity to SE.
2. After 3 seconds, SE starts to flash.
3. Release the
buttons within the next 10 seconds.
4. Press and hold the

button; C- flashes.
6. Press and hold the

button; CL lights up for 10 seconds.
Cleaning mode is started; the cooler/carbonator will be flushed
and filled.
After approx. 2 minutes, oo flashes on the display and the
cooler/carbonator must be drained completely as follows:
1. Depressurise the carbon dioxide cylinder, see Fig. [6].
2. Push down lever (K) or pull ring (L) from the valve until a
few drops of water will escape from the overflow (M), see
Fig. [7].
After 5 minutes oo disappears from the display, the cleaning
process will continue automatically.
After 20 minutes oo flashes on the display and the cooler/
carbonator must be drained again, see above.
After 5 minutes oo disappears from the display, the cleaning
process will continue automatically.
After another 5 minutes, the cleaning process is finished. The
display in the cooler/carbonisator changes to the remaining
filter capacity in percent.
End cleaning prozess
1. Re-establish the pressure supply to the carbon dioxide
cylinder, see Fig. [8].
2. Open locking handle (A) and remove cleaning cartridge (F),
see Fig. [4].
Important: The cleaning cartridge is still filled with water.
Unscrew lid (F1) and drain and rinse canister (F2), see
Fig. [2].
Inserting a new filter cartridge, see the technical product

cooler/carbonator.
