647893 Cooling System Test Adapter Kit - For use with #940427 Kit 102
Adapter #31 instructions
1. Use Adapter #31 to test the cooling system using the coolant reservoir fill
hole as the test point. This is useful when the radiator cap is inaccessible
or incompatible with test adapters.
2. Open the reservoir fill cap and note that the fill hole has a flanged edge.
Adapter #31 has a spring-loaded clamp that should under the flange of
the fill hole to hold the adapter in place.
3. If the flange diameter is too small, slide the U-shaped metal flange plate
#34 under the flange, then clamp the adapter #31 to the straight edges of
the flange plate.
4. Select the proper size threaded adapter seal post (#29, #32, or #33) for
the application.
5. Once the adapter is in place turn the lock nut on the top of the adapter
body in a clockwise motion to begin to extend the seal post downward.
Continue to do this until you feel tension and a proper seal is achieved.
Do Not Overtighten!
6. Finally, connect the pump Part #21 from the Powerbuilt Cooling System
Pressure Test Kit (item #940427) to the quick connect end of the adapter
as begin to apply pressure. Check to see if there are any system leaks.
Adapter #29 instructions
1. Adapter #29 is the radiator test adapter that is paired with Adapter #12
cap test adapter. These 2 units will be used to test the radiator system
and cap for a wide range of popular vehicles. First fit the #29 medium size
seal post to the #29 adapter body. This installs by turning the lock not on
the top of the #29 adapter. (Make sure that the seal post is screwed in all
the way to allow maximum clearance when installing the adapter onto the
radiator.)
2. To install the adapter onto the radiator simple push the adapter down
over the radiator fill hole opening and turn to lock in place.
3. Once the adapter is in place turn the lock nut on the top of the adapter
body in a clockwise motion to begin to extend the seal post downward.
Continue to do this until you feel tension and a proper seal is achieved.
Do Not Overtighten!
4. Finally, connect the pump Part #21 from the Powerbuilt Cooling System
Pressure Test Kit (item #940427) to the quick connect end of the adapter
as begin to apply pressure. Check to see if there are any system leaks.
