CAUTION: always work with the motor switched
off
CHAIN
When new the chain is subject to elongation;
check tightness periodically and restore if neces-
sary.
BAR
Periodically clean the channel K and the holes L
to guarantee oil flow.
Grease the pinion using the syringe supplied stan-
dard.

Periodically turn the bar over to ensure even wear
of the surface in contact with the chain.

Sharpening the chain

CAUTION:
work using protective gloves
The chain must be sharp in order to obtain a good
cut; correct sharpening is attained using an appro-
priate bench sharpening machine.
However, it is also possible to use a round file
mounted on a suitable guide. In this case work with
the chain fitted on the bar, suitably fixed to a work-
bench.
Observe the cutting angles shown in the figure and
the height of the cut limiting device, adjusting if
necessary.
