Closed captioning (CC) lets you read the voice content of TV
programs on the TV screen. Designed to help the hearing
impaired, on-screen text boxes will show dialog, conversation,
and activity during TV programming.
1. Press MENU to see the PICTURE main menu.
2. Press VOL+ or VOL- repeatedly to select the Setup menu.
3. Press CH+ or CH- repeatedly to highlight C.C.D.
4. Press VOL+ or VOL- to select the closed caption you want
(Off, C1, C2, C3, C4, C.Mute, T1, T2, T3 or T4). C.Mute sets the TV
to show closed caption when you press MUTE. The TV
volume will be disabled until you press MUTE again or VOL+
to restore the sound.
5. Press MENU repeatedly to exit the menu or the menu will
automatically disappear within a few seconds if no buttons are
pressed on the remote control.
NOTES:
•
When selecting Closed Captions, the captioning will be delayed approximately 10 seconds.
•
Misspellings or unusual characters may occasionally appear during Closed Captioning. This is normal with Closed
Captioning, especially with live programs. This is because during live programs, captions are also entered live.
These transmissions do not allow time for editing.
•
When Captions are being displayed, on-screen displays, such as volume and mute may not be seen or may interfere
with Closed Captions.
•
Some cable systems and copy protection systems may interfere with the Closed Captioned signal.
•
If using an indoor antenna or if TV reception is very poor, the Closed Caption Decoder may not appear or may
appear with strange characters or misspelled words. In this case, adjust the antenna for better reception or use an
outdoor antenna.
