NOTE: Drill through the strike seal with a 5/16" bit to provide
clearance holes for fastening the wall jamb.
NOTE: For tiled-in installations, it may be necessary to use
plastic wall anchors to mount wall jambs.
5. Measure the distance between the receptor curb and the ceiling.
Cut the pivot jamb 2" (5cm) shorter than the measured distance.
6. Snap the two glazing seals into remaining wall jamb and pivot jamb
on the side opposite the door opening as shown in Fig. #5. Cut two
pieces of vinyl filler strip so it equals the length from the top of the
glazing seal to the top of the pivot jamb. Cut the remaining vinyl filler
strip 72-1/4" (183.5cm) long.
7. Refer to Fig. #6. Insert ceiling mount stud, nuts, and washer into the
top end of the pivot jamb. Place the ceiling mount over the end of
the ceiling mount stud. Set the pivot jamb into the base. Adjust the
ceiling mount stud until pivot jamb is snugly supported. Use a level
to plumb the pivot jamb. Mark the location of the ceiling mount and
remove pivot jamb. Install the ceiling mount using two #8 x 2-1/2"
truss head screws.
8. Install the glass side panel into the wall jamb as shown in Fig. #7.
Use glass cleaner to lubricate the glass panel before sliding it into
the wall jamb.
9. Refer to Fig. #8. Slide the anti-rotation key into the large groove in
the bottom of the pivot jamb. Slide the 72-1/4" (183.5cm) vinyl filler
into the small groove in the bottom of the pivot jamb.
10. Thread the upper pivot pin into the hinge pivot until it is flush. Secure
the upper pivot pin with a 8-32 x 3/4" setscrew as shown in Fig. #9.
Slide the hinge pivot and the locking plate into the pivot jamb.
Temporarily hold in place 1-1/2" (3.8cm) above the vinyl filler with two
8-32 x 3/8" setscrews. Slide the remaining vinyl fillers into the small
grooves in the top of the pivot jamb.
11. Refer to Fig. #10. Carefully slide the ceiling sleeve over the top of
the pivot jamb and let it rest on the hinge pivot. Install the pivot jamb
by setting it into the base and sliding it onto the glass side panel, as
shown in Fig. #11. Make sure that the anti-rotation key is slid all the
way down into the base. Secure the anti-rotation key with two 8-32
x 3/8" setscrews. Refer to Fig. #8. Secure pivot jamb by adjusting
the ceiling mount stud until it is tight in the ceiling mount. Tighten the
nut and locking nut using two 9/16" open end wrenches. Slide the
ceiling sleeve up to the ceiling and hold in place with two 8-32 x 3/8"
setscrews. Mount the top end caps to the wall jambs using two #6
x 3/4" flathead screws.
12. Place the lower hinge plate centered on the receptor curb in front of
the 90 base. Refer to Fig. #12. Mark screw hole locations with a
pencil. Remove the lower hinge plate and drill clearance holes into
the receptor with 1/8" drill. Insert the lower pivot pin into the recess
in the lower hinge plate. Install the lower hinge plate with two #8 x
1-1/2" screws. Place one of the bearing washers over the lower pivot
pin.
