CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Unplug the device from the wall outlet.
• Never immerse the device in water or other liquids.
• Clean the device only with a damp cloth.
• You can wash the jug with warm water, a little washing-up liquid and a soft
brush. Do not clean the jug in the dishwasher.
Descale the machine
To ensure that your coffee maker produces good coffee for a long time, it should
be descaled from time to time. The frequency depends on how hard the water
is in your environment and how often you use the coffee maker. If you use your
coffee maker once or twice a day, you should descale the machine at the following
intervals:
• Soft water: every 6 months.
• Medium-hard water: every 2-3 months.
• Hard water: every 6-8 weeks.
If the time it takes to brew a pot of coffee suddenly increases significantly, we
strongly recommend that you descale the machine immediately. You can find out
the water hardness in your region from your local water supplier.
To descale the machine, follow the instructions below:
1 Fill the water tank up to the MAX mark with a descaling solution.
2 Press the on/off switch to start the cycle.
Switch off the device after half of the descaler solution has run through.

Allow the solution to soak for approximately 10 minutes.
Continue the cycle by pressing the on/off switch again. Allow the

remaining descaler solution to run through.
5 Allow the unit to cool down for 5 minutes afterwards.
Repeat steps 1-5 with fresh water to remove any descaler residue from

the unit.
