INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE USER
5. CONSTRUCTION DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
The purpose of this unit is to heat domestic hot water in two different ways (see FIG_5-1):
A. Through the heat exchange between the engine cooling water and the water stored in the tank. This heat
exchange is possible thanks to a heat exchanger. The engine cooling water circulates through a coil placed at the
centre of the tank to spread the heat evenly.
B. by means of an electric resistance (supplied with the appliance).
Main parts (see FIG_5-2):
1. Storage tank entirely made of AISI 316L stainless steel
2. External casing very resistant to shock and external stress, having at the same time a very nice design. It is made of
pre-painted aluminium
3. thermal insulation made of closed cells polyurethane foam, avoiding unnecessary heat loss. In this way, the heat loss
by thermal inertia reduces to 1 ° C per hour for a period of 24 hours.
4. Heat exchanger made of AISI 316L stainless steel. Its exchange surface allows to exploit at best the heat of the
engine cooling water and to get hot water even in extreme conditions (very small temperature differences).
5. electrical resistance: the device is equipped with an electrical heating element to heat water even when the boat
engine is off (for example when the boat is at the dock). Material: corrosion resistant Incoloy alloy.
6. Thermostat: it has two functions, namely
a. Temperature control: it interrupts the power supply to the heating element when the set temperature is
achieved (temperature control range)
b. Overheat safety thermostat: it cuts off the power supply to the resistance in case of excessive water
temperature.
Features:
temperature range adjustment: from 0 ° C to 60 ° C
Differential temperature: around 9 ° C
intervention temperature: 83 ° C
maximum current: 20 A
7. Cold water inlet
8. Safety and non-return valve: it prevents the backflow of hot water into the cold inlet pipeline. It is also a safety valve
against excessive pressure, protecting the tank from possible excessive pressure caused by the expansion of water
while heating. The water is discharged through the drain, which the valve is equipped with. Calibration:800 ± 50 kPa
(116 ± 7 psi
9. Hot water outlet
10. Mounting bracket

6. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

a qualified person who can do, not just a proper set up of the device, but also the necessary tests, must do the
installation in accordance with the existing legislation, before starting the water heater.
during the original installation and subsequent maintenance, follow the instructions in this booklet carefully. Changes
to any type of connection or failure to follow the instructions will cause the warranty loss.
before installation, maintenance or repair, cut off the power supply to the unit.
WARNING: USE THE BOILER ONLY FOR THE APPLICATIONS DESCRIBED IN THIS BOOKLET. DO
NOT USE THIS EQUIPMENT FOR OTHER TYPES OF APPLICATIONS. THE BUILDER IS NOT
RESPONSIBLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES CAUSED BY AN IMPROPER USE
OF THE APPLIANCE.

7. LOCATION AND ASSEMBLY

The appliance is provided with two fixing brackets (A - FIG_7-1). In this way, you get an easy, but steady and safe
installation. Use the bolt kits (supplied with the unit) to install the appliance.
The device must be installed in such a way that the heat exchanger and / or the electrical resistance are placed in the lower
part (FIG_7-2).
The device can be installed in any space, without limitations. The above does not exempt from complying with the instructions
provided in section 1. GENERAL PRECAUTIONS.
For other installations not mentioned in this manual and for installation on sloping walls, contact our technical department.
