gentially-exiting connector [3-4], into which
the 27 mm dia. suction hose can be inserted
[3-5]. If the machine is used without a dust
extractor, the chip defl ector [3-6] should
in all cases be fi tted to the connector. The
direction in which the chips fl y can be varied
by turning the chip defl ector. During opera-
tion with a suction hose, the chip defl ector
is inserted into the adjusting nob [3-11] at
the left-hand end of the platen [1-7].

7.7 Replacing the Saw Blade

WARNING
Before exchanging the saw blade, pull
the mains plug from the power sup-
ply socket.
Wear protective gloves!
The spindle locking button [3-1] may
be pressed only when the saw blade
is at a standstill.
Removing the saw blade
Swing back the protective guide [2-7] with
the lever [1-9].
Depress the spindle locking button [3-1].
Unscrew the clamping screw [2-4] with the
Allen key from motor spindle.
Remove the clamping fl ange [2-5] and the
saw blade [2-6].
Saw blade installation
The sawing performance and the quality of
the cut depend essentially on the condition
and tooth form of the saw blade. Therefore,
use only sharp saw blades that are suitable
for the material to be worked.
Swing back the swinging guard [2-7] with
the lever [1-9].
Depress the spindle locking button [3-1].
Install a suitable saw blade according to the
illustration and tighten. Take care that the
mounting fl ange and the clamping fl ange
are correctly positioned.
WARNING
Observe for installation: The cutting
direction of the teeth (arrow on the
saw blade) must match the direction
of the arrow on the guard.
Check the function of the swinging
guard.

Operating Instructions

► Do not cut into nails, screws, etc.
► Do not work with materials containing
asbestos.
► Do not use saw blades that have cracks
or that are damaged.
► Under no circumstances use abrasive
disks!
► Saw blades of highly alloyed, high-speed
steel (HSS-steel) must not be used.
► Feeding too fast signifi cantly reduces the
performance of the machine and short-
ens the life of the saw blade.
► Use only sharp saw blades in perfect con-
dition.
► Uncoated saw blades can be protected
from corrosion with a thin coat of acid-
free oil.
► Resin and glue on the saw blade cause
poor cutting results. Therefore, clean the
saw blade immediately after use.
Working different materials
Wood
The proper selection of the saw blade is
dependent on the type and quality of the
wood as well as whether the wood is to be
sawed along or across the grain.
Beech and oak dust is especially detrimental
to health and therefore should be worked
only with vacuum dust extraction.
Plastic
When cutting plastic, especially PVC, long,
spiral shaped shavings are produced that
can be electrostatically charged.
This can cause the ejector to become clogged
and the swinging protective guard [2-7] to
stick. The use of a vacuum cleaner for dust
extraction is recommended.
Apply the machine running against the work-
piece and carefully start sawing. Then saw
steadily and without interruption so that the
saw teeth have less chance of sticking.
