2. Fill the oil tank (B) with correct chain and bar oil (Figure

5-2.TO START ENGINE
1. Press red STOP switch to the "I" ON position (Fig. 5-
2A).
2. Pull the blue lever (D) out as far as it will go until the
blue lever stays out (Fig. 5-2B). This advances the throt-
tle so you do not have to hold the trigger while starting.
3. Fully press and release the primer bulb (E) 10 times,
slowly. Some amount of fuel should be visible in the
primer bulb (Fig. 5-2C). If you can't see fuel in the bulb,
press and release the bulb as many times as it takes
before you can see fuel in it.
4. Place the saw on a firm flat surface. Hold saw firmly as
shown (Fig. 5-2D).
5. Pull the rope with a controlled and steady motion 4
times. Then move the blue lever (F) all the way in (Fig. 5-
2E).
NOTE: The unit uses
significantly reduces the effort required to start the engine.
You must pull the starter rope out far enough to hear the
engine attempt to start. There is no need to pull the rope
briskly-- there is no harsh resistance when pulling. Be
aware that this starting method is vastly different from (and
much easier than) what you may be used to.
6. Hold saw firmly and pull rope until saw starts. This
could take 4 more pulls.
7. Let the saw warm up for 10 seconds. Depress and
release trigger (G) for idle (Fig. 5-2F).
IMPORTANT IDLING INFORMATION
In some cases due to operating conditions (altitude, tem-
perature etc.) your chain saw may need a slight adjustment
to the idle speed.
