4) If the recorder is not connected to a network, click "Next"
to go to the next menu and then continue with step 5.
For network connection, the static setting is recom-
mended. The following setting options are available:

When all cameras whose images are to be recorded are
connected to the recorder via the jacks LAN... (5 and 6),
click "Next" to go to the next menu and continue with
step 7.
IP cameras can only be added when they have been
connected to the network (see instruction manual of the
camera). For adding IP cameras, the following options are
available:

With the option PPPoE, enter the user name
and the password supplied by the Internet
service provider and set the client port as well
as the HTTP port. It will then be possible to
remotely access the recorder via the IP address
captured after a domain name and the HTTP
port have been registered.
With the option DHCP, the router will auto-
matically assign an IP address to the recorder.
However, the IP address assigned can be
different with each restart. Consequently, port
forwarding is required for remote access to
the recorder (set UPNP to "Enable").
With the option "Static", enter the correct
IP address, subnet mask, gateway and DNS.
When the router supports the UPnP function
and when UPNP has been set to "Enable",
the recorder will automatically send the port
numbers to the router. For the recommended
setting "Static", the factory setting "Disable"
should be used.

When the IP cameras have been added, click "Next".
6) The menu for automatic recording will appear. According to
the factory settings, all camera channels to which a camera
is connected will record from 00:00 – 24:00.

To change the settings:
a) After "Channel", the camera channel is shown (in the
figure above: channel 1). To change the recording time
for a different channel, click the icon
b) To delete recording times, keep the left mouse button
pressed and move the mouse pointer over the time range
desired. Individual half-hour blocks can be deleted by
a simple click.
c) Proceed in the same way to add times that have been

deleted.
d) To automatically start recording when motion is detected
and / or an alarm is triggered, first click the yellow ellipse
"Motion" or the red ellipse "Alarm". Then keep the left
mouse button pressed and move the mouse pointer over
the time range desired.
e) To use the setting for other camera channels as well,
make the appropriate selection in the line "Copy CH ...
To All" at the bottom of the menu and then click "Copy".
f) If required, the recorder can be easily reset to its factory
settings (chapter 8.10).
When the settings have been made, click "Next".
7) A menu for date, time, menu language and other basic
settings will appear:

available in the network. Click the camera de-
sired to select it and then click "Add".
