MAINTENANCE
CLEANING DUST CHUTE
See Figure 72.
This saw features a dust chute for convenience in discharging
sawdust. A standard shop vac can be attached to the chute,
located under the back side of the saw.
During periods of extended use, the dust chute should be
emptied and cleaned to prevent buildup of sawdust and to
make sure there are no obstructions or other small offcuts
that may have fallen into the throat plate opening that could
hinder maximum performance.
To remove/clean the dust chute:
 Unplug your saw.
 Loosen the screws and wing screws.
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the screws and wing
screws. If you remove the screws, replace them after
closing the cover.
 Open the dust chute.
 Clean sawdust and wood chips from the dust chute.
To reinstall dust chute:
 Close the cover.
 Secure in place using screws and wing screws.
BRUSH REPLACEMENT
See Figure 73.
 Unplug the saw.
 Lower blade completely and bevel to 45º. Lock the blade.
 Turn saw upside down.
 Remove brush caps with a screwdriver.
NOTE: Brush assembly is spring load and will pop out
when brush cap is removed.
 Remove brush assemblies and check for wear.
 Replace both brushes when either has less than 1/4 in.
length of carbon remaining. Do not replace one side
without replacing the other.
 Reassemble using new brush assemblies by reversing the
steps listed above. Make sure curvature of brush matches
curvature of motor and that brush moves freely in brush
tube.
 Tighten all brush caps securely. Do not overtighten.
