Dry vacuuming
•
Make sure that the HEPA filter is properly installed. Never vacuum without installed filter.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Warning:
Before any maintenance or cleaning always unplug the power cord from the power outlet.
•
Empty the vacuum cleaner container and remove and clean the filter before storing the vacuum cleaner.
•
You can wrap the power cord around the body of the vacuum cleaner, fit the floor nozzle with the attached
tube and hose in the holder on the side of the vacuum cleaner. The vacuum cleaner should be stored in
a room protected from weather conditions.
•
You can wipe the casing and the vacuum cleaner container if necessary with a damp cloth. The internal
parts of the vacuum cleaner should not be penetrated by water. Never use solvents or any other aggressive
cleaners or abrasives.
•
Never immerse the vacuum cleaner into water or any other liquid and do not leave it under running water.
No parts of the vacuum cleaner can be washed in the dishwasher.
•
Over time, hair or other dirt can be entangled on the vacuum cleaner wheels and the floor nozzle. Remove
them regularly to ensure easy handling of the vacuum cleaner. We do not recommend that you lubricate or
treat with oil the wheels and rollers of the floor nozzle. Dirt would catch on the greased parts even easier.
Note: You can find replacement filter for vacuum cleaner VM 3140 under the name ECG VM 3140 Hobby HEPA
filter.
Maintenance of the HEPA filter
The HEPA filter is a highly effective tool for removing almost all impurities in the interior from allergens to mold
spores. However, regular and consistent maintenance is required to maintain the cleaning performance of the
filter and of the vacuum cleaner.
1.
Release the motor unit lock and pull it out together with the HEPA filter from the dust container.
2.
Shake the dirt from the filter into the waste bin.
Rinse the filter under running water and dry thoroughly. Do not use any cleaning products.
3.
4.
As soon as the filter is dry, put the filter back on the motor unit, which you then insert back into the dust
container and secure it with a lock.
