electronic card.
Nota : For further details, look at the electrical diagram in the control box.
The booster may not be connected to a voltage other than that des-
cribed (See 1.2 - Technical characteristics).
The pumps and the booster's electrical control devices are connected
to the control box at the factory.
Electricity supply
Use an shielded electric cable with four conductors (three phases +
earth) to connect the three phase network to the terminals (L1, L2,
L3) of the section switch.
Do not forget to connect the earth terminal.
If the unit is set up on insulating material, the support framework must
be earthed using an earth braid connected to the framework
(See FIG. 1 - item 12).
Protect persons against stray earth currents
(see enclosed document 4.036.916).
Float switch (Version "B")
The float switch, supplied separately, should be installed at the tank
and connected to the control box with a two-core shielded cable
with terminals marked "dry" (see control box information).
Make sure that the electrical connection is correct by working the
float switch by hand so as to cause, at the end of delay time T1, the
dry running LED on the box to light up.
Report
In line with the characteristics of the installation, information reports
are necessary.
To refer to the control box commissioning instructions.
6. STARTING UP
Never operate the device dry, even momentarily.
CAUTION !

6.1 Filling the tanks

If the reservoir is empty of water, fill it to a pressure lower than 0.3 bars
at the pump adjustment pressure.
Maximum filling pressure :
Tank
3,9/7 bars
= 3 bars
10/15 bars
= 7 bars*
12/18 bars
= 8 bars*
16/24 bars
= 12 bars*
* Safety valves obligatory for these models.
Nota : To facilitate maintenance and repairs, fit the reservoir with an
isolating valve.
6.2 Pressure gauge (See FIG. 1)
Cut off the pressure gauge sleeve to return it to atmospheric pressu-
re (See FIG. 1 - item 9).
6.3 Filling – degassing
On municipal mains water or under pressure from the tank
- Check the water supply source (tank sufficiently full or
municipal mains water supply correct).
- Close the device discharge valve (or the discharge valve of each
of the pumps).
- Open the unit supply valve to supply it with water.
- Open the pump bleed plugs (See FIG 1 - item 10) and wait for the water
to flow out substantially before closing them again.
- Use the control box's forced operation mode to check priming. If
need be, test the pumps one after the other (refer to the control
box instructions).
Suction with tank
- Close the unit's discharge valve (or each pump's discharge valve).
- Open the unit's suction valve.
- Unscrew the filler caps (See fig. 1 - rep. 10) and remove.
- Using a funnel inserted in the opening, fill the pumps and suction
pipe slowly and completely.
The filling is completed once water has come out and the air expelled.
- Screw the filler caps back on.
- Use the box's "forced operation" mode in order to check the pri-
ming. If necessary, check the pumps one after the other.
6.4 Settings
Pressure switch lacks water (Version "V") (See FIG. 2)
Principle :
When the pressure falls (for lack of water) the pressure switch
engages and stops the pumps after a delay. When water returns,
the pumps start up again.
The pressure switch is pre-set at the factory (0.5 bar). This value can,
however, be altered. Proceed as follows :
Remove the cover
Screw in the distance screw (item 1) as far as it will go
without tightening it completely.
Turn this screw (item 1) a quarter turn
Remove the bolt (item 2) from the red disc (item 3).
Turn the red pressure disc (item 3) as far as it will go
Close the suction valve. Open it to discharge until the desired dry
running pressure (to be read on the pressure gauge).
Turn the disk (item 3) clockwise until a 'click' is heard.
The dry running LED starts to flash on
Replace the bolt (item 2).
Put the cover back in position.
Float switch (version "B")
Adjust the float in such a way that there is always a reserve of water
of a minimum of 40 cm above the unit entry port so as to overcome
the resistance of the strainer valve.
6.5 Setting the variable speed system
Repair or maintenance work on the variable
CAUTION !
speed system may only be carried out by a qua-
lified person.
Refer to the control unit commissioning instructions.
6.6 Commissioning
When the pumps are first switched on, they may
CAUTION !
start up immediately due to the programmed in
memory and the pressure in the installation. All necessary precau-
tions must therefore be taken to protect persons and equipment.
To prevent the pumps starting up in any situation, the operator may
do one of the following :
- either open the remote on-off switch "Ext. Off".
- or open the pumps' current protection (fuses or circuit breakers).
Set the general section switch on the control box at "I" and check that
the pumps are in auto mode (if necessary see the control box
instructions).
The booster now operates automatically due to the automatic
control unit.
