Steering System with 1 Steering Pump
N.B.: The drawing numbers refer to the drawings at the bottom
of this page.
1 Open air bleed nipple 'A'. Move the piston rod until the piston
is against end cap 'A'.
Now SLOWLY turn the steering wheel on the steering pump in
the direction shown. Stop turning as soon as the oil flowing
out of air bleed nipple 'A' no longer contains any air and
close the air bleed nipple. Do NOT turn the steering wheel in
the opposite direction.
2 Open air bleed nipple 'B'. Turn the steering wheel until the
piston is against end cap 'B'.
3 Now SLOWLY turn the steering wheel in the direct shown.
Stop turning as soon as the oil flowing from air bleed nipple
'B' no longer contains any air and close the air bleed nipple.
Fill the steering pump or oil expansion tank to the correct
level.
Steering System with 2 Steering Pumps
Fill and bleed as for 'Steering System with 1 Steering Pump'.
Always bleed the lower steering pump first, and then the top
steering pump.

General
Check the oil level several times in the first few days after filling
the system. Top up the oil if required.
The oil level may initially fall as fine air bubbles escape from
the oil.
Air in the steering pump can be detected by a knocking sound
when the steering wheel is turned.
