quick release mechanism, which causes a built-in disc brake
to lock the blade-holder disc. Before opening the hopper,
the shutter must be raised otherwise a side blade may
GB
cause it to bend. After opening the hopper, remove the
cause of the blockage and close the hopper by pulling the
lever. Insert the plug in the socket and switch the machine
back on.
The machine must be positioned on a flat and stable surface
to prevent the risk of tipping.
The plug connection must be safe and protected from
water.
The extension cable must be slack and unwound in order to
prevent it from melting due to heat build-up. Before starting
the machine, check the supply cable for signs of damage.
The power of the motor decreases as the length of the
connection cable is extended.

50÷100 metres min. conductor cross-section
WARNING - Portable machines used outdoors must
be connected with a safety switch (circuit breaker) to
protect against fault currents.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. The composting material should not be forced into the
opening but introduced liberally.
2. Introduce the composting material only when the
machine is switched on.
3. Where possible, ensure that only uncontaminated
material is processed. Soil considerably wears down
the blades, so any essential garden waste which is
contaminated with soil should only be shredded after
other materials have been processed.
4. Ensure that the discharge port is uncluttered at all times
and that it is kept at least 10 cm away from accumulated
shredded material. Otherwise, the machine will
immediately clog due to air stagnation.
5. Important: switch off the bioshredder only when there
is no more waste material in the cutting unit. This
will be apparent when the cutting unit stops making a
noise. If the shredder is switched off while there is still
waste material in the cutting unit, the unit may become
blocked once the machine is switched back on.
6. The side blade and shredding blade are subject to wear. If
the blades are worn, they can be resharpened to facilitate
processing. This operation must be carried out by an
Authorised Dealer. Pay attention to prevent the sides of
the tempered blade from becoming burnt.
7. Clean the machine after each use, particularly after
shredding damp material.
SHREDDING TIPS
The shredded material should be neither too bulky
nor too fine in consistency; it must nevertheless be
sufficiently crushed to favour the proliferation of micro-
organisms.
Waste card and cardboard (preferably moist in order
to accelerate the decomposition process) can also be
introduced into the hopper; the cutting unit is extremely
heavy-duty.
Damp material such as vegetable waste, sodden leaves,
shrubs etc. can be shredded without a problem: there is
no risk of clogging.

COMPOSTING TIPS
Use a wide variety of garden refuse.
Mix the waste material thoroughly and deposit it in
layers.
Mix grass cuttings with other waste to prevent mould
growth.
Scatter micro-organisms (available in specialist stores)
amongst the shredded material to further accelerate the
decomposition process.
The abundance of air and water facilitates the
decomposition process (by enabling the micro-organisms
to fully develop).
Avoid inorganic substances.
After several weeks, turn and sift the material in the
mound or composting container.
The final product is a rich humus which makes an ideal
organic fertiliser for the garden.
Using this organic fertiliser avoids the need to buy costly
2
additives.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING - Disconnect the plug before performing
maintenance and cleaning operations, or before
opening the hopper.
For the machine to function at maximum power, the blades
must be sharpened or replaced at the first sign of wear.
To remove the blades, use a suitable tool and wear protective
gloves. Chock the blade-holder disc with a block of wood to
prevent it from turning.
The cutting tools should only be replaced in bulk, or at least
in pairs, to prevent the risk of imbalance.
Use only original replacement parts.
To detach the blade-holder disc, loosen the M8 hex head
bolt located in the centre and tighten the M12 hex head bolt
supplied with the machine tool kit, using it to extract the
blade-holder disc.
When extracting the blade-holder disc, be sure not to
remove the spacer washers between the motor shaft and
the blade-holder disc, otherwise the brake will not function
effectively.

TROUBLESHOOTING
A) LaThe machine switches off automatically after a
certain period of time.
Solution: Check that the mains fuse is still intact. If the
motor temperature is high, wait until it cools down. Also
check whether the supply cable is overheated. Overheating
of the cable indicates that the cable is too long or the cross-
section is too small. Use shorter or thicker cables in order to
make the machine function correctly.
