Replacing the TEBS E modulator
•
Read this document carefully. All instructions, notes, and safety instructions
must be adhered to in order to avoid personal injury and/or material loss.
WABCO will only guarantee the safety, reliability and performance of its prod-
ucts and systems if all information provided in this document is observed.
•
Only trained and qualified technicians are permitted to perform work on the ve-
hicle.
•
Always follow specifications and instructions of vehicle manufacturer.
•
Always comply with the company's regulations for the prevention of accidents
and national regulations.
•
Wear any necessary protective clothing.
•
Keep your workplace organised.
•
Access to the vehicle is not permitted to unauthorised persons.
•
Note the manufacturer's information and safety information for the respective
product when working with operational materials (oils, grease, etc.).
Before starting work on the TEBS E modulator, ensure the following:
Danger of bodily injury!
Pedal actions can cause serious injuries if persons are near the vehicle.
Ensure that pedal action is prevented by means of the following measures:
– Switch the gearbox to "neutral" and actuate the hand brake.
– Use brake wedges to secure the vehicle against rolling away.
– Attach a clearly marked note on the steering wheel saying that work is being
performed on the vehicle and that the pedal must not be applied.
– Read the ECU data record, the EEProm and the error memory with the PC di-
agnostics.
– Save this data under the chassis number.
– Depressurise the air suspension.
– Depressurise the supply reservoirs "Brakes" and "Air suspension".
