saw to walk backwards, cutting whatever is in its path.
Be aware of the time it takes for blade to stop after
switch is released.
1. ON/OFF SWITCH
Depress to start and release to stop your tool.
2. FRONT HANDLE
Always hold your saw firmly with both hands when op-
erating. The correct and incorrect methods to support
large work-pieces are shown in Figures 1 and 2.
3. CHANGING A SAW BLADE
Warning: Disconnect the tool from the pow-
er source before making any adjustments.
Press the spindle lock button (8), and use the hex key
(11) provided to remove the blade bolt (14) and outer
flange (15). Rotate lower blade guard (4) clockwise and
hold open using the lower blade guard lever (5) while
changing the saw blade (6). Ensure the arrow on the
saw blade points in the same direction as the lower
blade guard (4) arrow. Check to make sure the blade
surface and flanges are clean before reinstalling the
blade bolt (14). Press the spindle lock button (8) again
and re-fit the outer flange (15) over the spindle (16) and
tighten the bolt with 1/4 turn more than finger tight.
Check that the blade is securely fastened.
For best cutting results ensure you use a saw blade
suited to the material and cut quality you need.
4. DEPTH OF CUT ADJUSTMENT
Lift the depth of cut locking lever (9) and raise the saw
body away from the base plate (3). Set the depth of cut
using the scale (10) and push the lever (9) down to lock
(See Fig 3 and Fig 4). Always add 1/8" (3mm) to your
depth of cut so the blade can cut through the material.
5. BASE PLATE
Adjusting the angle of the base plate (3) enables bevel
cutting (See Fig 5). The base plate (3) must always be
held firmly against the material being cut to reduce
saw vibration, blade jumping or blade breakage (See
Fig 5).
6. BASE PLATE ANGLE ADJUSTMENT
Loosen the base plate bevel lock knob (7) and rotate the
base plate (3) to set the bevel angle using the base plate
angle scale (17). Then clamp the base plate (3) in posi-
tion using the lock knobs (7) (See Fig 5). Finally, check
the angle and ensure the base plate is firmly clamped.
