BEFORE ASSUMING IT IS A BREAKDOWN...
So metimes we ma y assume the playe r has bro ken down when in fa ct the
pow er plug is not plugg ed in. Please check the following items bef ore calling
yo ur dealer. In additio n, there may be causes other than those involving the
play er. Please check the TV, stereo component, a nd o ther elect rical devices
yo u are using at the same time. If the tro uble still exists after check ing the
fo llo wing items, please consult your dealer or client service listed in a separate
Symptom
No power feed.
No image or image in disorder
No sound
The remote control device does not work.
The playback image will be in disorder if DVD
images are recorded on VTR.
Playback not working
Different types of playback not working
Subtitle language cannot be changed.
Vocal language cannot be changed.
Angle cannot be changed.
Playback from the beginning of DVD impossible.
The menu is in a different language.
The menu for Video CD does not appear.
Sometimes the player do es not work norma lly because of an external influence such as a sta tic electric
charg e. In such ca se s pl ease pre ss POWER/STANDB Y button. If, i n abou t 20 secon ds a fter ha vi ng
pressing POWER/STANDBY button, it does not turn on STANDBY state (STANDBY indicator light in red,
light of the indicator window extinguished), please pull out once the power plug then plug it in again. The
player will be back to the normal state.
ABOUT RESET FUNCTION
The player will not work normally with non-standard discs. When in this state, please press STOP button once to stop it. If it doesn't stop normally, plea se
press POWER/STANDBY button. Please press LAST button and ENTER button at the same time on the front Panel if the state is not changed in about 20
seconds after having pressed POWER/STANDBY button. The re-started state will change to standby state after pressing LAST button and ENTER button at
the same time (STANDBY indicator light in red light of the indicator window extinguished) Please press POWER/STANDBY button again to use it.
(Pull out the power plug then plug it in again, the re-started state will also change to standby state, too.)

°¥ The power cord is not well connected.
°¥ The AV cord is not well connected.
°¥ The disc is dirty, or damaged.
°¥ This player corresponds to the copy guard of macro-vision
mode. If the disk contains copy guard signals, playing it with
some TVs may produce horizontal bars on the screen. This
is not a breakdown.
°¥ Please connect the player directly to the TV. When viewing
the images output by the player through a video deck, the
image may be in disorder by the action of the copy guard.
°¥The AV cord is not well connected.
°¥The disc is dirty, or damaged.
°¥It is set in pause, slow playback, or quick playback.
°¥The optical/coaxial output is not set properly.
°¥The distance to the player is too far.
°¥The angle to the signal receiving eye is too wide.
°¥The batteries are dead.
°¥Direct sunshine or a strong light is interfering with the signal
receiving eye.
°¥The player correspo nds to the co py guard of Macrovision
type. Some discs register copy prohibiting signals. If such a
d isc i s r ecord ed on VTR, the n the pl ayba ck will not be
normal because of the copy guard system.
°¥The disc is not correctly set in.
°¥The disc is dirty or damaged.
°¥A disc that cannot be played by the player is in.
°¥There is condensation in the player.
°¥The parental lock is locked.
°¥The region code of the disc is different.
°¥Some discs cannot be played. Please read the handling notice on the disk.
°¥The played disc has no record of multi-lingual subtitles.
°¥The played disc has no record of multi-lingual voices.
°¥The played disc has no record of multiple angles.
°¥There are discs that will not start from the beginning after
stop and start. Please o perate with ME NU or TOP MENU
boutton.
°¥The OSD language is not properly preset.
°¥A Video CD not corresponding to PBC is being played.
°¥Requi red o perati on for a Video CD corr espondi ng to PBC
has not been performed.
°¥PBC is 'Off'.
