Operation
When the meter is turned on, it performs a self test and all the elements of the LCD appear.
Then the temperature of T1 displays. The meter returns to the temperature scale and
thermocouple type that was selected the last time the meter was used.
Note: If "OL" appears on the display, the thermocouple is not plugged in or working properly.
1.
Connect the thermocouple(s) to the meter.
2.
Press the
button to turn the meter on.
• If the unit does not function as expected, replace the batteries.
• If the unit still does not function as expected, send the unit to Greenlee for repair.

To turn the meter off, press the
Selecting the Thermocouple Input
The meter defaults to T1 when it is turned on.
1.
To view the T2 thermocouple reading, press the T1 T2 T1-T2
"T2" is displayed and its value appears.
2.
Press T1 T2 T1-T2
readings. The T1-T2 mode calculates the difference between T1 and T2.
3.
To automatically cycle through the three modes, press the button again. The LCD shows
the mode that is being displayed.
4.
To print all three values, press the PRINT button.

Viewing Maximum and Minimum Temperatures
The TM-400 temporarily stores the maximum and minimum temperature readings of the
selected thermocouple. The meter also calculates the average between the last two recorded
readings. These are updated as the values change.
1.
Press the T1 T2 T1-T2
2.
Press the MAX MIN AVG button to record the maximum temperature.
"MAX" and the value appear on the display.
3.
Press the MAX MIN AVG button to record the minimum temperature.
"MIN" and the value appear on the display.
4.
Press the MAX MIN AVG button again to view the average temperature.
"AVG" and the value appear on the display.
5.
Press the MAX MIN AVG button to return to normal operation.
