CARE AND CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
The humidifier must be cleaned before each use.
1. Disconnect all tubing from the humidifier ports.
2. Disassemble the humidifier chamber by moving
each of the slide latches (Figure 6) to the
unlocked (
) position and separate the cham-
ber lid from the chamber base.
3. Remove the o-ring seal from the chamber base.
If necessary, use a blunt instrument to assist in
removing the o-ring seal. Use care to prevent
cutting the o-ring during removal.
4. Wash the tubing, o-ring seal, chamber lid and
chamber base in a solution of warm water and
mild dishwashing detergent. Rinse the parts
thoroughly and allow to air dry before reusing.
Once the humidifier parts are clean and dry, reassemble
the humidifier as follows:
1. Replace the o-ring into the o-ring groove along
the edge of the chamber base. Ensure that o-ring
is positioned in the groove along the entire
length.
2. Assemble the chamber lid to the chamber base
by first ensuring that each of the slide latches
are in the unlocked (
3. Place the chamber lid onto the chamber base
and slide the six latches into the locked (
position (Figure 7). Inspect the o-ring seal and
verify that the o-ring is properly seated.
4. Firmly reconnect the 15" connector tubing and
the patient circuitry to the humidifier ports.
NOTE –The humidifier chamber lid and base are dish-
washer safe if placed in the top rack of the dish-
washer. The tubing and o-ring seal are not dish-
washer safe. It is recommended that the humidi-
fier be washed separately and that the water
temperature be at least 130ºF (54ºC). Thoroughly
rinse the chamber lid and base after removing
from the dishwasher and allow to air dry.
