Make sure the mains electric supply has a 30mA protection and a circuit breaker with 3 mm space
between the contacts.
Do not connect the machine to the mains electricity supply by a multi-socket adapter or an
extension lead.
All installation works must strictly comply with current local and national safety regulations.
 On the lower part of the machine there's a terminal for the equipotential connection to other
equipment, marked with the symbol

5. Operating Instructions

Never operate the machine with wet hands!
Danger of burning and scalding! The liquids and steam are very hot! Do not approximate your
face and hands to the zone above the steam wands.
Do not touch the groups, the metal parts of the filter holder and the steam wands because they
are very hot!
5.1.

Getting Started

First set up the water supply, only then use the ON/OFF switch in order to switch the machine on.
 During the first water filling, the heating only initiates AFTER the water has reached the minimum
level (when the green signal light turns off)
 In all other cases, the heating is permanently working, except for when the water level has sunk
below the minimum and the machine is blocked.
1. Open the water tap in order to make sure the machine is supplied with water.
2. Press the main switch ON/OFF on the right front of the machine.
3. Check the manometers.
a.
When the orange signal lamp switches off, the boiler pressure must be at +/- 1bar (+/- 0,1
MPa). The manometer of the pump must show the system pressure,
b. The pump pressure must be +/- 9 bar (+/- 0,9 MPa). The pump pressure can easily be
adjusted by turning the screw on the pump head.
4. Clean the steam wands before starting to work with the machine by turning the control knob of the
steam wand to the right. This opens the steam wand. Let steam flow out for a few seconds. The hot
steam cleans the wand. Turn the wand off. Do this on every steam wand on the machine.
5. Now you can begin to make coffee.
SEMI-AUTOMATIC-MODELS
 During the first water filling of the boiler, the red signal light is blinking. When the water has
reached the minimum level, the red signal light turns off. The water filling continues until the
water level in the boiler has reached the maximum level. When the maximum level has been
reached, the machine automatically stops the water filling and starts the heating. During the
heating process, the orange signal light turns on.
 The machine automatically refills the boiler in order to maintain the preset water levels. Every
time the water filling is resumed, the red signal light blinks.
A constant lighting of the red signal light (without blinking) is an alarm sign indicating an error
during the water filling process. Please consult the chapter "Alerts"
5.2.

Programming of portions (CV models)

 The CV models with volumetric flowmeter allow to program each drink.
 Always start the programming on the first (leftmost) group of the machine. The settings on the
first group are automatically transferred to the other groups. However, you may program each
group separately.
1. Fill the filter holder with the desired amount of ground coffee and put it in the group.
2. Press key 5 and keep it pressed for 3 seconds in order to enter the programming mode. The LED of
key 5 starts to blink. All other LEDs on the keyboard light up (without blinking). The machine is
ready to be programmed.
