Safety Information (continued)
□
Remind bystanders before striking a plasma arc and make
sure they are at a safe distance and aware of coming
intensive plasma arc.
□
Make sure you are in a proper position while operating the
machine. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance
at all times, which enables better control of the machine in
unexpected situation.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
WARNING: Improper use of plasma cutting machine will
cause electric shock. Electric shock can kill. To reduce the
risks, the operator should read, understand and follow the
safety instructions. Bystanders in the area should also
follow the safety instructions under the guidance of
operator.
WARNING: After removing the input power, there will be
significant DC voltage existing on internal parts. Do not
touch inside of the machine right after disconnecting the
input power cable (turning off unit is not enough). Please
allow sufficient time for capacitors to discharge to zero
voltage (check with a volt meter).
□
Do not expose the plasma cutter to rain or come in contact
with a wet surface. Water entering a machine will increase
the risk of electric shock.
□
Do not make physical contact with any cutting current
circuits which includes the electrode or cutting tips, ground
clamps, workpieces or any metal parts/conductive materials
in contact with electrode holder/workpieces.
□
Stay alert when operating a plasma cutting machine. Do not
use a machine while you are tired or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol or medication. Avoid unintentional starting.
□
Before disassembling plasma torch, removing shield cup or
changing plasma torch consumables, be sure to disconnect
the input power cable after turning off machine.
□
Make sure you read the user manual and are well prepared
before cutting.
□
Do not make contact with any grounded metal surfaces such
as metal pipes, radiators and refrigerators. There will be an
increased risk of electric shock when your body is grounded.
□
Ensure power is disconnected before setting up the machine
or working on services.
□
Do not abuse any cords. Never carry, pull or unplug the
machine by its cord. Keep any cords away from heat, oil,
sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords
could increase the risk of electric shock.
□
Inspect the machine before using it. Do not operate if you
observe any damaged and cracked parts, including but not
limited to damaged/cracked cables, ground clamps and so
on. Replace them before using the machine.
□
Use an extension cord (specific for outdoor use) when
operating a machine outdoors.
□
Do not point plasma torch at people when torches are
energized.
□
Do not cut in damp area or when cutting equipment is in
contact with water or wet surface.
□
Do not cut when body or clothes are wet.
