General information
The F23 flow meter is specially designed for the monitoring of water filter
cartridges. It is used to measure water consumption and to display the filter
capacity remaining before replacement. To enable this, the output capacity
specific to the filter must be entered into the device in advance.
When the zero value is reached or when the maximum permissible service life of
the filter cartridge of 12 months is exceeded, the filter cartridge must be replaced.
The user can enter and query the following information via the screen in the
external display:
• Output and remaining capacity of the filter
• Total filtrate quantity
• Retrieval of filtrate quantities and operating times for the last 5 filter cartridges
• Litre/Gallon

Information
General
• Read the operating instructions carefully before commissioning the F23 flow
meter and perform all steps according to the instructions.
• The flow direction must correspond to the marking on the device.
• A horizontal mounting position is recommended for the sensor unit.
• The device must not be subjected to mechanical loads.
• Only appropriate sealing and connecting elements (enclosed) may be used.
• For battery replacement, installation and disposal, the instructions according
to EN 60335-1 Appendix 3 Section 7.12 must be observed.
Measuring tips
• Do not allow fast pulsating flow of the medium.
• Do not allow a water/air mix.
• Avoid electromagnetic disturbances.
• The pulse time per litre is calibrated for the measurement of water and may
differ depending on the medium and installation.
Personnel
Installation may only be carried out by trained and authorized personnel
in compliance with local regulations.
Safety
• Follow all instructions and displays.
• Only use commercially available batteries of type AA (2 pcs.).
• Make sure that the cover is closed correctly. Otherwise, foreign bodies
and moisture may enter.
• In the following instances, remove the battery:

your contractor.
Explanation of Symbols
Assembly (see page 53)
Initial assembly of the filter system with sensor unit
For initial installation, the filter head (see operating manual of your fitting - chapter
"Installation") must be installed first.
Retrofitting the sensor unit
The water supply to the filter system must always be shut off before installation.
Pay special attention to the correct flow direction (arrow on housing).
Use suitable tools for the installation (open-end wrench 19 mm).
The installation position of the sensor unit should be horizontal.
The unit must not be subjected to mechanical loads, pay particular attention
to the leverage effect of hoses and bending radii. Support hoses if necessary!
Only use sealing and connecting elements that are suitable for the system.
Flush the system and check for leaks before commissioning the F23 flow meter.
