KNOW YOUR AIR COMPRESSOR
Before attempting to use this product, familiarize yourself
with all operating features and safety rules. (Fig. 1)
SAFETY VALVE
This valve is designed to prevent system failures by
relieving pressure from the system when the compressed
air reaches a predetermined level. The valve is preset by the
manufacturer and must not be modifi ed in any way.
DRAIN VALVE
The drain valve is used to remove moisture from the air tank.
PILOT UNLOADER VALVE
When the storage tank reaches the top pressure setting of
the pilot valve, the air being compressed is discharged to
atmosphere instead of into the storage tank.
When the tank pressure drops to the low pressure setting of
the pilot valve, the compressed air will be redirected to the air
tank.
COLD-START VALVE
The air compressor pump have a cold-start valve installed on
the pump cylinder head to assist with cold weather starting.
TANK PRESSURE GAUGE
The tank pressure gauge indicates the pressure of the air in
the tank.
REGULATOR PRESSURE GAUGE
The current line pressure is displayed on the regulator
pressure gauge. This pressure can be adjusted by rotating
the pressure regulator knob.
PRESSURE REGULATOR KNOB
Use the pressure regulator knob to adjust the amount of air
being delivered through the hose.
The air pressure coming from the air tank is controlled by
the regulator knob. Pull the knob out and turn clockwise
to increase pressure and counterclockwise to decrease
pressure. When the desired pressure is reached push knob
in to lock in place. Follow tool operating instructions for
recommended pressure range.
AIR TANK
The tank is used to store the compressed air.
QUICK COUPLER
The outlet is used to connect the 1/4 in. NPT air hose.
ENGINE KILL SWITCH
A kill switch is installed to easily stop the engine. Do not
attempt to move the throttle lever (as described in the Honda
owner's manual) when stopping the engine. The erngine
throttle lever is factory set and locked down at a top RPM
setting that will provide maximum performance and service
life for the complete air compressor system. The kill switch
must be moved to the "On" position prior to pulling the recoil
rope assembly to start the engine.
ENGINE CHOKE
Moving the choke lever completely to the left (closed
position) will help start a cold engine. After start up, the
choke lever must be moved completely to the right (open
position) for the engine to operate properly. Fouling of spark
plug and excessive internal carbon build up will occur if
engine is operated with choke lever even partially closed.
FUEL SHUT-OFF VALVE
The fuel shut-off valve should only be moved to the "Open"
position (completely to the right) when the engine is being
operated. Always stop the fl ow of fuel by moving the shut-
off valve completely to the left when the engine is not being
operated. Do not move or transport the air compressor with
the fuel valve in the open position.
LOW OIL SHUT DOWN SENSORS
The air compressor engine is equipped with low oil shutdown
sensors. These are safety devices designed to protect
your engine from damage in the event the oil level in the
crankcase is below minimum.
If the oil in engine gets low while the air compressor is
running it will automatically shut down the engine and will not
restart until oil is added to the engine. If the oil is low before
start-up, the engine will not start until oil is added.
NOTE: The low oil shutdown sensors are very sensitive. You
must fi ll the engine to the full mark on the dipstick to
inactivate this safety device.
