Flying model aircraft and helicopters outdoors has required mandatory
liability insurance since 2005. Contact your private liability insurer
and make sure that your new and earlier models are included in your
insurance coverage. Request written confirmation and keep this in a
safe place. Alternatively, the DMFV offers a trial membership free of
charge online at www.dmfv.aero, which includes insurance.
8 ChaNgINg The rOTOr BlaDeS
If the rotor blades of the helicopter are damaged and you must
replace them, proceed as follows:
8A First unscrew the two screws on the centre
8B Then loosen the control bars below the rotor.
8C To pull off the mixing arm on the rotor blades, rotate them
upwards vertically ...
8D ... and pull them off towards the front.
8E Now pry off the cover plate connecting the two rotor blades.
8F If the cover plate can be loosened, both rotor blades can be
easily pulled off to the side.
8G During reassembly, ensure that the control bar with the
oblong hole is threaded on the fixing pin below the rotor.
