Identify and Mark a Leak on the Outer Skin of the SUP Board
1. If necessary, inflate the SUP board again to about 0.5 bar (7 psi) and pour water over it: Listen for air
bubbles and/or the sound of escaping air as an indicator of leaks.
2. If necessary, increase the pressure to a maximum of 1 bar (15 psi).
3. Carefully mark any leak found with a suitable pen (e.g. make a small cross with a ballpoint pen.
Repair Leak on the Outer Skin of the SUP board
The procedure is similar to repairing a bicycle tube.
1. When the leak found is sufficiently marked, open the valve and set it to the exhaust position to release
the air. If necessary, use a pump to evacuate the remaining air.
2. Take a patch from the supplied repair kit. If necessary, trim to an appropriate size a few inches larger
than the leak. Round corners of patch.
3. Wipe the area around the leak clean and dry with a clean rag; do not erase the mark.
4. Rough up an area a few centimeters around the leak with a piece of sandpaper or similar. Roughen
the underside of the patch in the same way.
5. If a hair dryer is available, dry and heat the patch and the area around the leak with warm air.
6. Apply a thin coat of the special adhesive provided to the area around the leak and to the underside of
the patch. Wait a few minutes for the special glue to dry slightly.
7. Press the patch lightly onto the leak. If necessary, correct the position and carefully push air bubbles
outwards. If available, heat again with the hair dryer. Press patch again.
8. Leave the SUP board for 24 hours so that the adhesive connection is made securely.
9. After the waiting time has expired, inflate the SUP board to 1 bar (15 psi) and pour water over it to
check the impermeability of the SUP board.
10. Also during the first activities after the repair, check very carefully that the SUP board is leakproof.
