Make sure the machine is clean before using it. Old coff ee residue aff ects the taste of

Store unused ground coff ee in a cool, dry place. Re-seal an opened packet of ground
coff ee airtight.

Coff ee tastes best immediately after brewing. Reheating coff ee that has become cold
is not recommended.

Slide the fl avour regulator to the amount of water in the water tank. If you want to
brew 1.25 litres of coff ee, set the fl avour regulator to 1.25 litres.

You can use the fl avour regulator to infl uence how strong your coff ee becomes. A

short drip time (fl avour regulator on the left) means a shorter brewing time and, the-
refore, milder coff ee. A long drip time (fl avour regulator on the right) means a longer
brewing time and, therefore, stronger coff ee.

The grind (coarse or fi ne) aff ects the speed at which the water runs through the
ground coff ee. You can infl uence the taste of your coff ee by the grind. If the coff ee be-
ans are ground too fi nely, the water runs through more slowly. If the coff ee is ground
too coarsely, the water runs through more quickly and fl avouring agents remain in
the ground coff ee. We recommend a medium grind that is suitable for fi lter coff ee
machines.

We recommend using 60 grams of ground coff ee per litre.

5.7 Standby mode

The machine automatically switches to standby mode after 15 minutes without any acti-
vity. You can start standby mode manually by pressing and holding the ON/OFF button
for approx. 3 seconds. The unit remembers the previously set time during standby mode
and shows it again after waking up the display.

6 Cleaning and Maintenance

This chapter provides you with important notices with regard to cleaning and maintaining
the device. Please observe the notices to prevent damages due to cleaning the device
incorrectly and to ensure trouble-free operation.

6.1 Safety information

ATTENTION
Please observe the safety instructions, before cleaning your device

The device must be cleaned at regular intervals and limescale should be removed.

Pull out the mains plug before cleaning the device.

The water tank, coff ee pot and fi lter holder with fi lter are hot after their use. There is a
danger of burns! Wait until the device has cooled down.

Do not use any aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.

Do not scrape off stubborn dirt with hard items.
