Getting started

• The appliance may give off a slight odour and a little smoke when used for the first
time. This is normal and does not affect the appliance. It will soon stop. For this
reason, be sure to air the room adequately.
1. Take the appliance and the accessories out of their packaging.
2. Check that all parts are present and in good condition and that the appliance is not
damaged.
3. Clean the appliance before using it for the first time (see "Cleaning" section at the
end of the manual).
4. Put it on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface. Ensure that the appliance is placed at
least 50 cm away from any other objects.
5. Plug the power cord into a wall socket. The red LED 2 lights up and the appliance
will start to preheat. The green LED 3 lights up once the operating temperature has
been reached.
6. Allow the appliance to operate for approximately 10 to 15 minutes so that any
residue can evaporate.
7. Open the waffle iron.
8. Unplug the power cord and allow the appliance to cool.
9. Clean the appliance thoroughly.
WARNING! Do not put the appliance in water (the
hotplates are not removable)!
