as a hair dryer. Do not use the device in the bathroom or near water. Do not touch the outlet
end of the heat gun, as this may cause burns. After use, allow the tool to cool down before
storing. If the device is not equipped with a special function for cooling the components which
have been heated after use, do not in any way accelerate the process of self-cooling of the
device's components.
APPLIANCE OPERATION
Installation of equipment components
CAUTION! Only install the accessories when the supply voltage is disconnected. Pull the power cord plug out of the socket!
Before installing and removing the nozzle attachment, make sure that all parts have cooled down.
If the heat gun is equipped with accessories, these can be mounted by placing them on the device's nozzle tip.
Connecting the power supply
Only the following 18 V Li-Ion YATO batteries can be used to power the tool: YT-82842, YT-82843, YT-82844 and YT-82845, which
can only be charged with YATO YT-82848 or YT-82849 chargers. It is forbidden to use other batteries with a diff erent rated voltage
and not matching the tool battery socket. It is forbidden to modify the socket or battery to make them fi t.
Slide the charged battery into the guides of the battery socket so that the battery latch holds it in place (II). Check whether the
battery does not slide out of the tool socket by itself.
Starting and stopping the device
Switch the lamp on by moving the switch to the "1" position.
Further switching to the positions marked "2", "3", etc., depending on the model, increases the speed and/or airfl ow temperature
or activates additional operating modes.
The device is switched off when the switch is set to the "0" position. The sound of a running fan will no longer be audible. Leave
the heat gun to cool down. Safely place the heat gun on the back wall with the nozzle facing upwards.
Moving the switch to the "1" position starts the heat gun and sets the mode in which the heat gun is cooled down at the end of op-
eration. Place the heat gun on its rear wall for cooling. Make sure that the fan does not suck in dirt from the ground during cooling.
EXAMPLES OF HEAT GUN APPLICATIONS
Removing old paint and varnish
Thanks to the hot air stream, the heat gun makes it easy to remove thick layers of oil and epoxy paints from doors, windows, fl oors,
wainscoting, furniture, etc. Use a spatula or scraper to remove hot paint coatings.
Drying
The heat gun also enables quick drying of binders and car body fi llers, drying of paint samples, building connections before the
application of soundproofi ng - sealing materials, drying of joints and slots in boatbuilding, drying of polyester putty.
MAINTENANCE AND OVERHAUL
ATTENTION! Before any adjustment, technical service or maintenance operations unplug the tool. Once the operations have been
fi nished, the technical conditions of the tool must be assessed by means of external evaluation and inspection of the following
elements: body and handle, conductor with a plug and defl ection, functioning of the electric switch, patency of ventilation slots,
sparking of brushes, noise level of functioning of bearings and gears, start-up and smoothness of operation. During the guarantee
period, the user cannot dismantle the electric tools or change any sub-assemblies or elements, since it will cancel any guarantee
rights. All irregularities detected at overhaul or during functioning of the tools are a signal to have the tool repaired at a service
shop. Once the functioning has been concluded, the casing, ventilation slots, switches, additional handle and protections must be
cleansed with a stream of air (at a pressure not exceeding 0.3 MPa), with a brush or a cloth without any chemical substances or
cleaning liquids. Tools and handles must be cleansed with a clean cloth.
