4 - INSTALLATION AND CONTROLS BEFORE THE USE
Adjust the working pressure at 10 bar.
For a proper chainsaw use, connect it to a straight air hose having a 8 mm inner diameter and being not longer than 50 m.
Before connecting the tool to the air supply, check that the couplings are clean in their inner part.
Keep the air lubrication at its minimum level. Use SAE 10 oil. When necessary, add oil into the compressor lubricator.
WARNING!
Do not use salvaged oil. It could damage the lubrication pump.
Before any oil supply, clean the area around the tap, so that no impurities may enter the reservoir.

- USE OF THE CHAINSAW

5.1 Use

Use the coupling (15) to connect the tool to the compressed air supply.
Put the ON/OFF switch (18) in OFF position and hold the tool with both hands.
Push the safety catch (20) forwards. Pull the operating lever (21) to start the tool.
When releasing the operating lever (21), the active safety catch (20) inserts automatically, and the tool stops.
At the end of the work, put the ON/OFF switch (18) in OFF position and put the bar (32) into its guard to protect the chain.

5.2 Chain brake

The chain brake (28) is a high safety device for the use of the chainsaw. It protects the end-user in case of dangerous kickbacks
while working. It immediately locks the chain when the operator makes pressure on the hand-guard.
It is released by pulling the hand-guard (8) towards the end-user's body (picture Q).
WARNING!
The chain brake has always to be activated while moving from one place to another and during the work breaks.

5.3 Checking the chain brake functioning

Before performing any task, first check the brake (28) for proper functioning, and carry out the following operations:
1.
Start the tool and firmly hold the handles with both hands.
2.
Pull the operating lever (21) to start the chain. Push the hand-guard (8) forward with your hand back.
3.
When the brake is activated, the chain stops immediately. Release the operating lever.
4.
Release the brake bringing the hand-guard back to its initial position.
WARNING!
The chainsaw does not work when the chain brake is activated.
SAFETY RULE ABOUT THE KICKBACK
The kickback can be produced when the bar upper part touches an object, or when the wood gets locked or crushed
during the cut. Hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands in order to avoid or reduce the kickback effect. The knowledge
and the prevention of any kickback eliminates the 'surprise factor' and reduces, therefore, the accident possibilities.
Check that the cutting area is free from obstacles (picture O - R).
