CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Your stove is subject to extreme temperatures
and the corrosive effect of combustion residues.
Regular maintenance is essential for a longer life
and better utilisation. We, therefore, recommend
you carry out the following checks regularly:
DURING THE SEASON OF USE
Visually inspect the chimney. Clean soot
and tars if they have started to accumulate
on the inner walls of the stove.
Check that the door closes
necessary.
AT THE END OF THE SEASON
Inspect and clean the chimney.
Vacuum the inside of your stove and in-
spect it carefully.
Soot and tars (creosote) that accumulate on
the walls of your cooker reduce perfor-
mance and can cause a fire.
Inspect the ceramic beads on the door and
glass. They must be replaced if and when
they do not provide a perfect seal.
On painted cookers, repaint cast iron parts
if necessary. Use heat-resistant paint.
CLEANING
Cleaning should always be done when the stove is
cold.
Cleaning ashes
This stove is equipped with an ashtray at the
bottom of the firebox.
Take out the ashtray and empty the ashes.
The ashes should be emptied into a metal con-
tainer and immediately removed from the house.
If necessary, clean the ashtray housing.
Painted parts
They should be cleaned with a completely dry
cloth to prevent rusting.

GLASS DOOR
Cleaning
Stove glass cleaners are quite effective products.
Never attempt to clean the glass while the stove
is in operation.
If the glass of your stove door is constantly
tightly; adjust if
fogged with soot, it means that your fire is "poor"
and that, consequently, the connector and chim-
ney are becoming clogged with soot and creo-
sote.
Replacements
The glass is purposely designed for wood-burning
stoves.
However, in case of breakage, it must be replaced
by another of the same characteristics. Please
contact our dealer for the appropriate glass,
mounting instructions and gaskets.
