NOTE 1: The highest frequency range applies to 80 MHz and 800 MHz.
NOTE 2: These guidelines may not be applicable to all situations. Electromagnetic propaga-
tion is affected by absorption and reflection from structures, objects and people.
a. The range of fields from fixed transmitters, such as radio base stations (cellular/wire-
less), telephones and land mobile radios, amateur radio, AM and FM broadcasting, and TV
broadcasting cannot be predicted theoretically with accuracy. To assess the electromag-
netic environment due to fixed RF transmitters, an electromagnetic site survey should be
considered. If the extent of the measured field at the site where the foetal detector is used
exceeds the applicable RF compliance level, the detector should be tested to verify normal
operation. If abnormal operation is observed, additional measures such as reorientation or
relocation of the detector may be necessary.
b. Above the frequency range 150 kHz to 80 MHz, the extended fields must be less than
3 V/m.

SUPPORT
The blood pressure monitor is intended for use in an electromagnetic environment
where radiated disturbances are controlled. The customer or user of the blood pressure
monitor can help prevent electromagnetic interference by maintaining a minimum
distance between portable and mobile RF communications equipment (transmitters)
and the monitor as recommended below based on the maximum output power of the
communications equipment.

For transmitters with a maximum output power not listed above, the recommended
separation distance d in metres (m) can be calculated using the equation applicable to the
frequency of the transmitter, where P is the maximum output power of the transmitter in
watts (W) according to the transmitter manufacturer.
Note 1 : At 80 MHz and 800 MHz, the separation distance applies to the upper frequency
range.
Note 2: These guidelines may not be applicable in all situations. Electromagnetic
propagation is affected by absorption and reflection from structures, objects and people.
