Automatic switch-off
Shortly after the water has started to boil, the automatic switch-off
function will shut down the kettle automatically. If the kettle is filled
with only a small quantity of water, the switch-off period will be
increased.
If you require warm but not boiling water, the heating process can be
interrupted at any time by pressing the ON switch. The appliance will
then shut down automatically as soon as the kettle is removed from
the base.
For functional reasons, a small amount of condensed water may run
out through the openings at the bottom of the handle and onto the
rim of the base. This is due to technical reasons and does not impair
the safety of the appliance.
Safety system
If the kettle is accidentally operated without water, a thermostat
protects the kettle from overheating by switching off the appliance.
Make sure to allow the kettle to cool down before filling with water.
If the first thermostat should fail due to misuse, an additional tempe-
rature limiter offers reliable protection.
Cleaning and maintenance
Disconnect the appliance from the mains and allow it to cool down.
Never immerse the appliance in water; simply wipe it over using a
damp cloth with a drop of washing-up liquid and then rub dry.
Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents.
The bottom of the kettle is made of stainless steel. If you notice rust
stains all the same, these are only deposits sticking to the surface.
Remove these immediately with a cleaning agent for stainless steel.
The mesh filter in the spout can be pulled off to clean when the lid is
open. To remove, press up the top lug. When inserting, place the mesh
filter centrally against the bar and then latch home to the front.
