Magnetic holders are available that can serve as aids in holding
the windings in place during the process.
Cage inductor
A cage inductor is a combination of a fixed inductor with a flexible
inductor in which the flexible inductor is wound onto a support
frame.
Connection set
A connection set can be used to extend the connection cables of
an inductor.
11.2 Connecting inductors and connection set
Connect an inductor and/or connection set to the generator as
follows:
■ Insert the power connectors of the inductor into the sockets in
the rear side of the generator (see photo).
■ Make sure that the white dots on the plug and socket are
aligned with one another.
■ Press the plug through the spring pressure and turn it to the
right until it reaches the block and allow the plug to engage
in the lock under its own spring pressure.

The plug is now locked in the socket.
Disconnect the plug again by pressing it against the spring
pressure, turning it to the left and removing it from the socket.
A connection set is connected to an inductor in the same way.
Here again, the white dot on the plug has to be aligned with the
white dot on the socket. Then press the plug through the spring
pressure and turn it to the right until it cannot go any further. The
plug is now locked in the socket (bayonet fitting). Disconnect the
plug again by pressing it against the spring pressure, turning it to
the left and removing it from the socket.
NOTE!
Never disconnect the plugs while the inductor is in operation!
This may cause sparks or an electric arc.
If a fixed inductor is equipped with inductor recognition, it must
be connected to the connector for the overheating protection and
inductor recognition.
This connector is located on the rear side and can be recognised
from the following symbol:
Insert the plug in the socket on the rear side of the generator, then
engage the locking device by clicking the catch over the plug.
■ If an inductor does not have inductor recognition, a dummy/
dongle has to be inserted into this connection to allow the
generator to function.
■ If an inductor is disconnected from the generator or
connection set, a fault is triggered. The generator can then no
longer be started.
■ If the generator is equipped with the status column option, the
red lamp will light up and an acoustic signal is given for a few
seconds.
The fault is displayed on the screen.
