Discontinue Monitoring/Removing Extension Cable
1. To disconnect the Extension Cable from the Monitor, grasp the
connector housing and gently pull backwards toward the strain relief to
release the mechanical lock. The Extension Cable should pull out of the
connector freely.
2. Disconnect the Extension Cable from the Sensor.
3. Explant the Sensor from the patient.
4. Wipe down the Extension Cable with either of the following:
• Combination wipes (Quarternary Ammonium/Isopropyl Alcohol
• 70% isopropyl alcohol
5. If required by hospital protocol, the Extension Cable can be autoclaved
(see Reprocessing).
Reprocessing
CAUTION: Remove the bed clip from the Extension Cable prior to
reprocessing and retain for future use . The bed clip cannot withstand
reprocessing .
In a properly functioning, calibrated autoclave steam sterilizer, effective
reprocessing can be achieved with the parameters in Table 1.

The Extension Cable has been tested to withstand 100 autoclave cycles.
Cable performance beyond 100 autoclave cycles has not been evaluated. Do
not subject cable to additional weight when placed in autoclave since this
may compress and deform the connectors.
Storage
For long-term storage of the Extension Cable, ensure that it is protected from
dust and kept in a clean, dry environment with the following conditions:
• Humidity (RH) range: 15% to 85% (non-condensing)
• Temperature range: 0°C to +50°C
Service and Repair
The Extension Cable is not a repairable product; please contact your local
sales representative to order a replacement.
Product Lifetime
Visually inspect the Extension Cable before each use for the following:
• Replace the Extension Cable if there is any sign of deterioration such as
broken insulation or frayed wires.
• Connectors are undamaged; connector pins are not bent.
• If the Extension Cable does not comply with these conditions or has any
other problems that might affect function, do not use the Extension Cable.
