Handling advice
This advice will help to ensure the failure-free operation of the
device.
Where to use this swivel jib crane
The swivel jib crane serves to lift, lower and slew loads, predominantly
in wastewater treatment systems.
– Operate the equipment in accordance with the information in these
operating instructions.
– Operating the swivel jib crane in accordance with classification
EN 13001 (–> chap.8).
– to be used only if in perfect technical condition.
– to be used by trained personnel only.
– Loads may not be impaired in their movement during lifting, lowe-
ring, and rotating.
– Working temperature –> chap. 4.
– Max. permissible wind speed v(3)=20m/s (~Beaufort 6) at higher
wind speeds remove crane from the quiver.
– Remove snow and ice from the swivel jib crane and load before each
lifting operation.
Safe working practices
– First read the operating instructions.
– Always be conscious of safety and hazards when working.
– Observe lifting device and load during all movements.
– Immediately report any damage or defects to the person in charge.
– Repair equipment first before continuing work!
– Do not leave the load suspended without supervision.
– Transport device protected against impacts and shocks, falling over
or toppling.
Do not:
– Overload (–> technical data, type plate, payload plate)
– Mechanical propulsion.
– Impacts, blows.
– carriage persons.
– Working in strong winds (starting from wind force 6).
– stand neither in, nor on, nor under the raised load without additional
support.
– Breaking loose/pulling at an angle or towing loads.
– Increasing the payload or load of a load that is already being lifted.
Winch application
– Not suitable for permanent operation and vibration stress.
– Not approved for use as builders' hoist (DGUV-R 100-500-2.30).
– Not approved for use on stages or in studios (DGUV-V 17).
– Not approved for use as a retractable transportation device for per-
sonnel (DGUV-R 101-005).
– Not approved for use in explosive areas/environments.
– Not approved for use in cloric environment. (see point 5)
– Not suitable for lifting molten liquids.
– Not suitable for tropical environments.
Supervision:
– Ensure that these operating instructions are always at hand.
– Ensure that only trained personnel work with the equipment .
– Check at regular intervals whether it is being used in a safety and hazard
conscious manner.
– Ensure that an inspection logbook is available and is kept up to date.

Installation, service and repair
Only by specialist personnel!
Only use original spare parts for repairs.
Do not modify or alter safety-relevant parts!
Additional attachments must not impact safety.
Further regulations to be observed are
– German Industrial Health and Safety Ordinance (BetrSichV).
– Country-specific regulations.
– German Accident prevention regulations (DGUV-V 52/DGUV-V 54).
– Operating instructions for the attached rope winch/chain hoist.
3. wARNING AND INFORmATION SIGNS
Observe the load specifications.
Do not use crank for swivelling crane!
ATTENTION!
The permissible load is determined by the supporting struc-
ture, not by the permissible load of the attached rope winch/
chain hoist. If the load blocks or get stuck, interrupt lifting
(and/or lowering) of the load immediately. Otherwise, an over-
load of the supporting structure threatens.
First, eliminate malfunction, then continue working!
