3. While sharpening, the temperature of the piece must not exceed 120º, given that to the contrary, cracks will
appear and will subsequently cause the blade to break. The steel must never reach a bluish, dun-yellow colour.
4. After sharpening, the blades must be polished, first with 180-grain sand paper and then with 320-grain paper.
Then the sanded surfaces must be polished with a sisal brush and using a polishing compound to eliminate any
scratches from the previous sanding. A blade with a scratched cutting surface CAN BREAK.
5. Before assembling the blades on the machine, hone the edges using an oilstone.
SOUND LEVEL
The weighted, continuous acoustic pressure level "A" at the work station and with no load is a maximum of 75
dB(A), wherefore the person in charge of production should wear hearing protection.
