CARING FOR YOUR PRIME550
An important step is allowing the smoke chamber and
cooking grid to self-clean by running the pellet grill at
a high temperature for 10 to 20 minutes after each use.
Follow these cleaning and maintenance tips to service
your pellet grill:
WARNING
Make sure to clean out the ash from the burn pot after each use to ensure
proper function of your pellet grill. Failure to clean out the ash after each
use may cause difficulty in igniting the pellets or may cause a build-up of
pellets in front of the auger tube potentially causing a burn back inside
auger tube.
01. CLEANING INSIDE SURFACES
WARNING
Press the controller dial for 2 seconds to Turn OFF the unit and disconnect
the A/C Adaptor power cord or detach the battery pack.
CAUTION
Accumulated grease is easier to clean off when the grill is still warm but not
hot. Be careful not to burn yourself. Gloves are recommended.
Periodically clean the grease out of the
grease plate and grease drain. If too much
grease is allowed to build up in the grease
drip tray or is allowed to plug the grease
drain, could cause a grease fire. We strongly
recommend cleaning these locations regularly.
Remove the porcelain-coated grill grid
and the grease cup. Scrape the grease
accumulation from inside the grease drip
tray using a scraper, nonmetallic tool. The
grease plate may be washed in hot, soapy
water. Wipe up remaining grease residue with
paper towels or disposable rags. Paper towels
or disposable rags can also be used to wipe
some of the grease off of the interior surfaces
of the grill.
02. CLEANING THE RTD SENSOR
AND MEAT PROBE
Folds and twists in the probe wire may cause
damage. A meat probe not in use should be
rolled up in a large, loose coil.
Even though the probe made from a stainless
steel, use a wet washcloth with mild detergent
to clean. Do not place it in the dishwasher or
submerge it in water. Water damage to the
internal wires will cause a probe to short-out,
causing false readings. If a probe is damaged, it
should be replaced.
03. CLEANING THE COOKING GRID
CAUTION
Be careful not to burn yourself. Cleaning the grill grid works best while
still warm. A long-handle cleaning brush is recommended.
After removing your food, give the grill grid
a quick brush. It takes only a minute to get it
ready for the next time you want to grill.
Another option is to use warm water and mild
detergent to clean the cooking grid.
