04. CLEANING OUTSIDE SURFACES
WARNING
• Press the controller dial for 2 seconds to Turn OFF the unit and
disconnect the A/C Adaptor power cord. Make sure that the pellet
grill is COLD before cleaning outside surfaces.
• Use a throwaway cloth dampened with warm, soapy water to wipe
the grease from the outside of the grill.
• DO NOT use oven cleaner, abrasive cleansers, or abrasive cleaning pads
on the outside grill surfaces.
05. CLEANING THE ASH FROM
INSIDE THE FIRE CHAMBER AND
FROM AROUND THE BURN POT
WARNING
Make sure that the pellet grill is COLD before cleaning the ash.
WARNING
• Disposal of ashes should be done only according to the following
instructions. Excess ash in the firepot may cause your fire to go
out. The firepot should be inspected after each use and cleaned to
remove the ash buildup.
NOTE:
the firepot should be done only when the pellet grill is cold.
• Remove the grill grates, grease drip tray, and heat shield to provide
access to the firepot and the interior of the grill. Much of the ash
outside of the firepot can be removed from the grill with a small
metal fireplace shovel or other similar tool.
WARNING
• A vacuum cleaner is the best way to remove ashes from the burn pot, but
this must be done with extreme care to avoid the risk of fire.
• Recommend a utility-type, bag-less vacuum cleaner with a metal
collection canister would be best for this task. However, almost any
vacuum cleaner will work safely if this procedure is properly followed.
• If your vacuum cleaner is a bag-less model, empty any previously
26
accumulated debris from the collection chamber. Then vacuum the ashes
Cleaning the ash from in and around
from the inside of the burn pot. Once the burn pot is clean, empty the
collection chamber into the metal container described below without
delay. Make sure that there is no remaining ash residue left in the
collection chamber.
• If your vacuum cleaner is a model that uses a disposable bag,
install an unused bag in the machine. Then vacuum the ashes from
the inside of the burn pot. Once the burn pot is clean, remove the
bag from the vacuum cleaner and place it in the metal container
described below without delay.
WARNING
Make sure to clean out the ash from the burn pot after each use to ensure
the proper function of your pellet grill. Failure to clean out the ash from
fire pot after each use may cause the pellets not to ignite or may cause a
build-up of pellets in front of the auger tube potentially causing a burn back
inside auger tube.
06. DISPOSAL OF ASHES
WARNING
Ashes should be placed in a metal container with a tight-fitting lid.
The closed container of ashes should be placed on a non-combustible
floor or on the ground, well away from all combustible materials,
pending final disposal. When the ashes are disposed of by burial in soil
or otherwise locally dispersed, they should be retained in the closed
container until all cinders have cooled thoroughly.
Remove Ash Tray to Dispose of Ashes
on the left side of the unit, then pull the tray outward to empty the ashes.
