Lifting mechanism
Fig. 3 shows the lifting mechanism of the lifting
platform.

A hydraulic cylinder (2) with yoke (3) is located under
the left runway. Four suspension cables are routed via
pulleys from the yoke to the end plate of each column.
The pulleys (4, 5) are attached to the left runway and
the pulleys (6) to the cross members.
The hydraulic cylinder can be retracted and extended
by way of the hydraulic unit (1) at the control column.
When the lifting platform is lowered, the hydraulic
cylinder is fully extended.
As the hydraulic cylinder is retracted, the yoke pulls
on the lower end of the suspension cables, thus lifting
the pulleys (6) with the cross members. The cross
members are lowered again when the hydraulic cylinder
is extended.

The following components are bolted to the end plate
(1) of a column: Suspension cable, locking bar and
safety bar. Each bolted joint is secured by a lock nut.
The suspension cable (3) terminates in a threaded
end piece (2) which can be screwed in position. The
suspension cable supports the cross members.
The locking bar (4) is fitted with snap latches (5) at
100 mm intervals. The ends of the cross members are
provided with detent pins which can be extended by
pressing a button. If the lifting platform is lowered
in locked condition, it comes to rest on the locking
bars. During lifting operations, the detent pins retract
automatically and the platform is free to move again.
The safety bar (6) is a cable break safety device. If a
cable breaks, the cross member is caught by the safety
bar. The lifting platform is de-energized and blocked.
Lifting and lowering are no longer possible and the
defective suspension element must be replaced.
