Putting into operation
WARNING
Electric shock due to touching live components
Touching live equipment parts may result in potentially fatal electric shocks.
► Only hold and move the welding torch using the intended handle piece.
WARNING
Electric shock due to damaged or improperly installed components
Damaged or improperly installed components may result in potentially fatal electric shocks. Components include: Welding torch, cable assembly, spare parts,
wear parts.
► Inspect all components prior to each use and check that all connections are duly installed and undamaged.
► Clean soiled components immediately.
► Replace damaged components immediately.
► Damaged, deformed or worn components must only be replaced by an electrician who has been trained by ABICOR BINZEL.
Perform the following activities prior to every use:
1 Inspect, clean and, if necessary, replace the welding torch.
4.1
Selecting and mounting the wire guide
1 Select the welding material in line with the welding task.
2 Mount the appropriate wire guide for the welding material.
4.1.1
Shortening and mounting the spiral liner
NOTICE
Material damage when shortening and mounting the spiral liner
To mount the wire guide with a little preload, excess length is required.
► In the case of fixed welding torch necks, only use continuous spiral liners.
To use steel wires with undivided wire guide:
1 Lay out the cable assembly straight.
2 On the welding torch neck: Remove wear parts.
3 On the central connector: Unscrew the nut.
4 On the central connector: Push the spiral liner through the cable assembly
until reaching the retaining nipple.
5 On the central connector: Hand-tighten the nut.
6 On the welding torch neck: Use side-cutting pliers to cut off any spiral liner
excess length flush with the tip adaptor.
