Preheating the Espresso Maker
To make espresso at the right temperature, the coffee maker should be preheated
as follows:
1. Open the top lid and fill the tank with desired amount of drinking water
according to the gauge inside.
Close the top lid.
2. Place the coffee filter into the coffee holder (with no coffee in the filter).
3. Attach the filter holder to the Espresso Maker by positioning it under the
boiler outlet with the handle towards the left so that the handle lines up
with the unlock icon
to the right until it lines up with the lock icon
4. Place a cup on the drip tray grid.
5. Plug in the appliance. Make sure the steam knob is at the OFF position.
6. Press
7. Wait for the ready indicating light to stop flashing, indicating that preheating
is finished.
The appliance will be automatically turned off if no button is pressed within
25 minutes.

9. Discard water in the cup.
Brewing Espresso
1. Place the coffee filter into the coffee holder.
2. Fill the filter with fresh, fine ground espresso coffee.
Clean any excess coffee from the rim of filter holder. This will ensure
proper fit under the boiler outlet.
Tamp or compress coffee using the tamper. Do not overfill the filter.
This might cause clogging or overflow.
To obtain a strong espresso, tamp down the coffee firmly. To obtain a
lighter espresso, tamp down the coffee less.
3. Attach the filter holder to the Espresso Maker by positioning it under the
boiler outlet with the handle towards the left so that the handle lines up
with the unlock icon
to the right until it lines up with the lock icon
4. Place 1 or 2 preheated cups under the spout of the coffee holder.
